Superior Van and Mobility Donates New Wheelchair Lift to Louisville Man After Theft

Superior Van and Mobility, one of the nation’s most respected handicap van dealers, has donated a wheelchair lift and the labor to install it after a Louisville man’s was stolen from his van.

Louisville, KY (PRWEB) December 29, 2011

Superior Van and Mobility has come to the aid of a Louisville man whose wheelchair lift was stolen and sold for scrap metal. The wheelchair van dealer donated a new wheelchair lift to fit Ray Ralston’s full-size handicap van, as well as the labor to install the lift, and even delivered the newly outfitted van to Ralston’s home once installation was complete.

Ray Ralston’s wheelchair lift was stolen the week before Christmas, and he was unsure what he would do without it. Ralston did not have the $6,500 to replace the lift, and without its use, he was unable to use his wheelchair van. According to area police, Ralston’s wheelchair lift was stolen by a family member and then sold as scrap metal at an area metal recycling service.

Superior Van and Mobility saw the chance to give back to their community by giving Ralston the gift of mobility. After seeing Ralston’s story on local WDRB news, Superior Van and Mobility of Louisville, KY, decided to donate a brand new wheelchair lift to the 74-year-old, as well as the cost of the labor required to install the new lift in the van.

According to Sam Cook of Superior Van and Mobility, “I hope he has a merry Christmas and he can get out and see his family, go to church if he’d like to, go to the grocery store – those are the things that the rest of us take for granted.”

Wednesday before Christmas, Superior Van and Mobility delivered the fully outfitted van to Ralston’s home, just in time for the holidays.
