Texas Credit Union League Names Webb-Manon Director of Public Relations
Dallas (AllPayNews) – Linda Webb-Manon’s promotion to Director of Public Relations was announced at the Texas Credit Union League’s Board of Director’s Meeting in Odessa, Texas.
Webb-Manon has worked with the League for the benefit of its membership for over eight years as the Communications Director, and was the editor of its magazines, newsletters, and e-newsletters. Prior to her time at the League she was a newspaper reporter, familiar with the daily grind of finding and reporting on events of interest to readers. “It is a natural fit for Linda to assume this role, as she focuses on building relationships with individuals within the media, and opening doors for greater interaction and communication,” remarked Dick Ensweiler, president and CEO of the Texas Credit Union League. “Credit unions have been strong and stable financial institutions for nearly 75 years in Texas, and we look forward to Linda helping the public’s media understand credit unions and the support they deliver to the average American.”
“These are very challenging times,” said Webb-Manon. “People are faced with numerous hurdles from a sluggish economy, high unemployment, inflation, and an unstable financial environment. It is tough for most to make ends meet. I sincerely look forward to helping people understand that credit unions have had their greatest successes in helping those of modest means during similar economic times, such as the Great Depression and the financial collapse of the late 80’s and early 90’s. This is a time when we can really shine!”
Webb-Manon was also instrumental in developing and implementing the Juntos Avanzamos program, a best practice designed to instruct and help implement a Hispanic outreach program to credit unions. Since its conception, it has been used as a model for other outreach programs to minorities. She has been a strong proponent of programs that focus on and help the poor, the unbanked, the underserved, and those of modest means.

Organized in 1934, the Texas Credit Union League protects credit unions and promotes their growth, strength and unity. It accomplishes the mission through advocacy services, regulatory and compliance advice, training and event activities, marketing and public relations actions, and by delivering innovative, high value and profitable business solutions to the members.
Credit unions are not-for-profit, member-owned, volunteer-directed cooperatives that promote the financial and economic well being of all people, including those of modest means. The National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund federally insures credit unions.
