Jax Federal Credit Union to serve more residents

JACKSONVILLE -- The city's primary credit union for federal employees will start serving the community at large, making it the latest occupational credit union to shift to more general residency requirements for membership.

NCUA grants community charter

The Spencerport Federal Credit Union has been granted a Community Charter by the National Credit Union Administration. Those whose live, work, worship, attend school or actively volunteer in one of the following towns within Monroe County are now eligible for membership: Ogden, Parma, Gates, Greece, Riga, Sweden or Chili. All new memberships are subject to a review through E-Funds Chex Systems.

Visa to dump 20-year-old slogan

Visa USA Inc. is dumping its 20-year-old slogan, "Visa: It's Everywhere You Want to Be," in an effort to get consumers to think of it as more than just a credit-card company.

The new motto is to be unveiled Feb. 10 during the opening ceremonies of the Winter Olympic Games in Turin, Italy, Michael Rolnick, Visa USA's director of corporate relations, said in an interview. He declined to say what it will be.
